For this taco seasoning recipe, you can turn it into a real power-packed spice mix by using Himalayan salt instead of sea salt. It’s considered the purest in the world and includes minerals like sulfate, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. I use it whenever possible. Additionally, the turmeric adds a golden hue and warm, peppery notes to the blend – and is also considered an anti-inflammatory agent in Indian and Chinese medicine.
Golden Sugar-Free Taco Seasoning Recipe with Turmeric

Ingredients:
- 6 tbsp chili powder
- 3 tbsp smoked paprika
- 3 tbsp ground cumin
- 3 tbsp pink Himalayan salt (Sea salt works fine too)
- 3 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp ground turmeric
Steps:
- This one’s easy peasy! Just combine all the ingredients in an airtight container and give it a few shakes. Use 2 tablespoons of rub for every 1 pound of ground beef when making tacos. Makes about 22 tbsp or 11 servings.
