Low carb smoothies are great every once in a while. I’m a not a liquid diet kind of gal but sometimes I just want something cold and tasty to sip on as a treat, or after I go to the gym when I’m not hungry but need to get some food in me.
So I’ve been asking around the low carb circles, what they’re making at home as smoothies and decided to try out their recipes myself. Since so many low carb smoothies are 10+ carbs, my goal was to seek out ones that are less than 5 net carbs.
With these low carb smoothies, everyone can feel comfortable enjoying them and not feeling like they need to pinch their carb pennies for the rest of the day.
One thing to keep in mind – ingredients are important. There are cream cheeses with 3 net carbs per serving because they’re chock full of fillers. And there are cleaner ones that have 1. There are protein shakes with 20 net carbs per serving, and whey protein ones that are 1 net carb (I like VPX Zero Carb SRO 100% Whey Protein Isolate ( 0 carbs per serving) or Isopure Low Carb in Dutch Chocolate (3 net carbs per serving ). They also make a Zero Carb in Isopure but only in Vanilla.
Also, I know I’m usually anti-sugar free stuff, but a tbsp of these sugar-free syrups made all the difference in the once I’ve included it in. I usually go with Torani.

is there a easy way to print these instructions without all the graphics?
thanks so much
Get evernote and use the webclipper. I use it for everything!
The link to the Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup isn’t opening – can you help me?
Juanita Perez Rodgers Sorry about that, link is fixed, and here it is: http://amzn.to/1UPwdTH
Hi, I tried out the chocolate covered strawberry, and it came to 10 net carbs, not 5. Can you tell me exactly what products you used to make it 5 net carbs please?
THIS IS MY LIFE NOW! <3<3<3 #NoRegrets #SkinnyEatsTheFatty Anyone try to make these in advance for the week?
CaitlinKincannon I’m using the Zero Carb SRO 100% Whey Protein Isolate — http://amzn.to/2c5EhFF Getting a low/no carb whey protein is key.
What else goes in the strawberry cream smoothie it seems like it needs more liquid.
jv_tinah That’s all 🙂 You could always add an unsweetened almond milk if you like it thinner though!
What does xanthum gum do?
Also, is torani the best natural sweetener out there. I made the frapuccino without the xanthum gum since I didn’t have it. I substituted Torani with stevia and I am getting this bitter taste in my mouth which I usually get with artificial sweeteners like Splenda and equal. Before I started this diet I used to drink a cup of coffee with lots of cream and sugar every morning. That used to be my guilty pleasure. I just can tell find that perfect sweetener to satisfy my taste. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks
Navitalorenz xantham gum is just a natural thickener, it’s totally fine without. Stevia is very bitter, I find Torani is the perfect sweetener even though it’s sucralose-based, but I don’t have very much sweetener in a week so it’s OK with me.
Have you tried erythritol? And if so, what are your thoughts on it compared to stevia?
Yes, I like the blends, like Steviva. Erythritol isn’t very sweet, so I don’t like having to use a ton of it (plus it gives you that cooling feeling that’s kind of weird.) I like the blend of erythritol/stevia blends because you use less erythritol (less cooling) and the bitterness from the Stevia doesn’t usually make an appearance because it’s diluted with erythritol. I usually use it in baking though, not smoothies.
Best. Keto. Website. Ever…
Thank you for putting all of these recipes together!!
(You made a busy business owning mama of 4 VERY HAPPY!)
I made the Salted Caramel Cashew Smoothie last night and it was so yummy I couldn’t believe it lol. It didn’t come out to be 1 net carb on my side though. What brand of the ingredients did you use?
Tried 2 recipes so far and I really liked them!! Thanks for putting this together. What are your thoughts on using these smoothies as a breakfast replacement? Or should they be used for snaking only.
Made with raspberry, unsweetened almond and coconut milk, heavy whipping cream, and erythritol (natural sugar sub) with a dash of vanilla extract and ice….Feels like I’m cheating! So good! About 8 to 10 grams of carbs total.
Just made the peanut butter cup smoothie and aaahhhhh so good! The taste was so light and not too rich at all! Felt really heavy by the end of it though because of the heavy cream. I might lessen it next time, but other than that personal preference, it was perfect!
Oh and such a filling meal in just 4 net carbs! Wohoo! 🎊🎉🎊 Best part of it all!
Thanks so much for this blog, I’ve been looking for yummy smoothies on keto for so long! So glad I found this! Will try them all!
How can I print smaller versions of this …they look great and I’m desperate for some ideas. Do you have a book of them available to buy?
USUALLY… I’m a lurker from the shadows on the interwebs ( I really don’t know why.) but I had to come from the shadows to shower praise upon the egg custard smoothie. I discovered Torani has a sugar-free “S’mores” flavored syrup. I used this as a substitution (and added an extra ice cube, but that’s preference really) and holy crap-ola is it not the “something” I’ve been really wanting as far as a milkshake that is keto-friendly. It’s smooth and rich and oh-so-good. I am considering toying with this and adding coffee… maybe a joyful morning kick-start? Thank you SO much for this site and all your hard work! You haven’t steered me wrong!
: Keto is high good fat and low carb. Protein is a necessity, plus it’s in most food. ☺
Only four are made with protein powder, but it’s for flavor and also just for a little added protein if like, me, you don’t eat a ton of meat or are vegetarian. But really, mostly for flavor/consistency. It’s not enough to make your day a high protein day by any means, unless you’re using it to wash down half a dozen eggs. 🙂
Isopure Zero Carb comes in more than just vanilla, but they do not currently have a chocolate one in zero carb (they do have a low-carb version though)
Sounds good! I’m so glad you used cashew milk and not almond milk, the taste is much better. Nancy
It’s remarkable in support of me to have a site,
which is helpful in favor of my experience.
thanks admin
The Torani syrups you use in these have “sucralose”. Anything with “OSE” is “SUGAR” and they will raise most diabetics blood sugar x 1, 000. I wish there was a company that could do something better for diabetics.
I use Torani sparingly because I don’t like to use Splenda/sucralose in general if I can avoid it, but I agree, I haven’t found anything that can sweeten as well as their flavored sugar-free sweeteners. When I do, I’ll certainly re-make these with that!
