February is a good month to talk about chocolate.
Here’s the thing about keto chocolate: there’s a lot of it out there, and none of it tastes quite right. You have your really bad keto chocolate, which is a basket of weird artificial sweeteners and aftertastes, and you have your tasty ones but often have too many net carbs to actually enjoy them.
When I first tried the Keto Better Choice Bark by The Chocolate Trader, my February sponsor, I immediately checked the back of the bag because I was sure my first piece would likely be my last. I thought “there go my carbs for the day, better zip this bag back up!”
The reason is because their chocolate tastes legit. It looks, tastes, and has the same texture as non-keto chocolate almond bark, so in other words, it’s fiercely addictive! The chopped almonds in the bark really give it an awesome flavor that makes it totally snackable, too.
Now, brace yourself when I say that there are approximately 8 net carbs in the whole bag.
I know what you’re thinking: erythritol—it must be sugar alcohols! Nope, it’s sweetened with our friend monkfruit, and astonishingly with no aftertaste that I usually get from products that use monkfruit.
Immediately, I was like, BAM, LET’S MAKE A CHEESE BOARD BEFORE DINNER.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t zoom in on their other fiercely addictive product, their Better Choice Almonds, dusted in dark chocolate. And not just dusted, first dipped in chocolate and then dusted. YES, REALLY. It’s impossible not to eat a handful of these at lightning speed.
I can also think of other ways to use these almonds…crushed on top of a dessert, or crushed into a crust for a dessert. Or chopped and added to the top of a bowl of ricotta noatmeal, or added to some keto cereal. The options are so endless.
Between the chocolate and the almonds, I am already thinking up a majorly tasty keto granola idea. Mix them with dried strawberry slices and some toasted nuts, and that’s going to be majorly addictive.
If you want to order these, they’re available on Amazon and they ship for free. Easy peasy!
